Derry Directory

Terms of Service

Last updated: 19 August 2026

These terms apply to everyone who uses Derry Directory, operated by Derry Directory Limited(company number NI743106, registered office 67 Creevagh Heights, Derry, Northern Ireland, BT48 9AN) — whether you're booking appointments as a customer or listing your business. By creating an account, you agree to these terms.

You must be 18 or over to create an account.

What Derry Directory is

Derry Directory is a booking platform that connects customers with local, independent businesses. Each business listed is responsible for the services they provide, not us — we provide the platform that lets you find them and book with them. When you book, you're entering into an arrangement directly with that business.

For customers

  • You can browse businesses, book appointments or classes, pay online or in person (whichever a business offers), join waitlists, message a business about your booking, and leave a review after a completed booking.
  • Some businesses require full payment or a deposit at the time of booking; others take payment in person. This is shown clearly before you confirm a booking.
  • Cancellation terms (including whether a deposit is refundable) are set by each business and shown to you before you book. If you cancel within a business's stated cancellation window, a deposit may not be refunded.
  • A business may decline to serve a customer in future (for example, after repeated no-shows) by blocking them from booking again.

For businesses

  • New listings are reviewed before appearing publicly. We may decline or remove a listing at our discretion, including if it breaches these terms.
  • Listing your business requires an active subscription (charged per active staff member, monthly or yearly). Pricing is shown at sign-up and in your dashboard.
  • A commission applies to bookings taken through the platform. For online payments it's deducted automatically at the time of payment; for in-person payments it's invoiced monthly alongside your subscription. Current rates are shown in your dashboard.
  • Accepting online payments requires connecting a Stripe account in your own name — Stripe handles verification of your business and bank details directly; we never see your bank details.
  • You're responsible for the accuracy of your listing, services, pricing, and availability, and for delivering the services you list.
  • You can block a customer from booking with you again at your discretion.

Acceptable use

Don't use Derry Directory to post false or misleading information, harass or abuse another user, attempt to circumvent payments or fees owed to us, or use the platform for anything unlawful. We may suspend or remove any account that breaches this.

Liability

We provide the platform connecting customers and businesses, but we're not a party to the service itself — disputes about the quality or delivery of a service are between the customer and the business involved. We'll always try to help resolve a genuine problem where we reasonably can, but our liability is limited to what's required by law. Nothing in these terms limits liability for anything that can't legally be limited, such as death or personal injury caused by negligence, or fraud.

Ending your account

You can stop using Derry Directory at any time. Contact us if you'd like your account and data removed. We may suspend or close an account that breaches these terms, or a business listing whose subscription lapses.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms from time to time. If we make significant changes, we'll let you know — the "last updated" date at the top always reflects the current version.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of Northern Ireland.
